What the MMCA Seoul collection covers

MMCA Seoul opened in 2013 as the Seoul branch of Korea's National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. Its collection exhibition ran from May 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, tracing Korean contemporary art from the 1960s to the 2010s. Collection

The museum's collection context spans painting, sculpture, prints and drawings, photography, design and installation or media art. The Seoul exhibition brought together abstraction, experimentation, figuration and documentary approaches.

Its collection strengths include Korean modern art, Korean contemporary art, international contemporary art, and new media and installation.
