What the Salar Jung Museum collection covers

Salar Jung Museum opened in 1951 around the collections assembled by the Salar Jung family. The collection moved to its building on the Musi River in 1968. Collection of Objects

Its holdings bring together painting, sculpture, manuscripts, textiles and decorative arts from India, Europe and other parts of Asia. Veiled Rebecca and a jade book stand bearing the name Shamsuddin Altamish show the range of materials in the collection.
